As a species we fall horribly short of our potential. We have the ability to do
so much more:
-Feed and provide basic living necessities to everyone on the planet -Love
unconditionally -Choose to begin or end any situation in our lives -See beyond
current reality to intentionally create a better future -Call, write, email,
video chat, or go see a loved one, no matter where they are on the planet (even
right now!) -Think of others needs, over our own survival instincts. -Construct
any machine, building, or product that we can imagine, or destroy the most
beautiful things in our world in the blink of an eye. -Create the best world for
our children by modelling the type of people we admire most, or destroy their
esteem for a lifetime with one single word said in haste.
Why is it that
not very often we choose to do the most responsible thing, or the
kindest act, or the most courageous sacrifice? Why is it that we
give up our humanity, and take on the role, part and parcel, of a
suburban housewife, or a corporate president, or an adored rock
star, or a self-employed doctor, or a student, or whatever title you
give yourself? Why is it that you are reading this rather than
making a difference to someone whofs life seems a little more bleak
